"Jake" was from the first Fireside litter (littermate to River and Hobbs). He lived with my friend Paula and her family on a vineyard in California. In spite of being her first show dog, Jake and Paula did it all together - finishing his championship and grand championships easily and finishing 2014 in the Top Twenty and adding a Best in Specialty and an Award of Merit at the National Specialty to his name - all owner handled by Paula. His best friends were his two-legged kids and the pigs they raise for 4-H. He was always up for anything, was extremely athletic, and wonderful with all people and other animals. Jake suffered a documented back injury at two years old, and although he had exceptional care, the spinal damage really showed as he aged. Paula had to let him go at 7 years old. Jake has one litter, and his son Bomber is also a Best in Specialty winner.
